My good friend John, who is also an artist, said he feels this composition is the strongest yet. I feel like the painting itself needs a great deal more work - but I was time crunched today as it is my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday, MOM! Also - I promise to use my real camera for all future images because the phone camera, though handy, is pathetic.

I love the birchwood-especially in this painting. Leaving that exposed really adds an exciting edge and depth to the piece. Great idea! Keep going strong Lora!

Lora Marie DurrDuring my undergraduate studies, I spent a great deal of time in the painting studio working with traditional oils. Teaching middle school art for the past 12 years has taken me away from those roots. This "one a day" project is aimed at re-inspiring that creativity and technique. Archives
